In the fall of 2020, we replaced our radiation treatment machine with the latest, most advanced treatment equipment available, the Varian TrueBeam. The new Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator is an innovative radiotherapy system that integrates 3D imaging. This is one of the most streamlined treatment accelerators in the industry. It is also equipped with Brainlab ExacTrac which delivers radiation to multiple brain lesions in one non-evasive treatment.
This spring, we completed a major renovation and expansion of the medical oncology department with Drs. Alasad, Hassan, and Janbay. We added infusion chairs and exam rooms, as well as upgraded finishes to provide the best experience possible for our patients.
We are excited to welcome our newest physician, Dr. Bilal Ahmad, to the medical oncology department at the INTEGRIS Health Cancer Institute at Southwest Medical Center. Dr. Ahmad will begin seeing patients in the clinic in mid-August. He comes with extensive oncology and hematology experience and will work with our other physicians to offer expert care to our community close to home.
